You got something to say, speak or hold your peace
This is among my favorite performances from an amazing show during a great tour. Dylan and the rest of the guys really go to town on a crackling hot version of "Summer Days" and all seem to be having the time of their lives - especially Bob. I can't think of another time I've seen him flash that many smiles in under 10 minutes.
Right now I can't read too good, don't send me no more letters
What makes “Desolation Row” such a remarkable song is the way Bob Dylan keeps the listener completely engaged through a simple, repeating musical structure and an endless stream of vivid imagery. While the surreal lyrics draw most of the attention, the gentle and constant melody is just as important to the song’s meaning. Beneath the chaos, strange characters, and sense of social decay, the music quietly suggests that life simply carries on no matter how confusing or unsettling the world becomes. That contrast between disturbing imagery and calm musical flow is what gives “Desolation Row” its haunting and timeless power.
‘Seems like I been down this way before Is there any truth in that, Señor?’
One of the most fascinating aspects of “Señor (Tales of Yankee Power)” is its preoccupation with redemption and, more importantly, who is capable of achieving it. Rather than presenting redemption as something granted through traditional Christian salvation, Bob Dylan seems to suggest that redemption is ultimately a human responsibility something individuals must pursue within themselves while also extending it to others.

Welcome back…….Vinni The Durutti Column
The Durutti Column have announced that a new album Renascent – their first collection of new material since 2010’s A Paean To Wilson – will be released by London Records on July 31.
Van with Ronson and the Dr.
I love period of transition album. Doesn't get enough credit. Cold Wind in August is such an incredible song!

While several actors and musicians could not help themselves but turn that event, that was meant to celebrate the 9/11 heroes, into a political event (which it was not), Bowie chose a song that is patriotic, but not blind, and he went to a music store to buy that Omnichord to accompany himself, opening the event alone. I could not name even five musicians with that level of wit and graciousness.
